New release from Ensemble Allegria out now!

NO / EN

The latest release of Ensemble Allegria Britten/Hagen/Strauss is available from 21 October.

The record was recorded during the pandemic where we recorded two of the greatest works in the chamber orchestra literature: Britten's 'Variations on a theme by Frank Bridge' and the monumental 'Metamorphoses' by Strauss. Together with Lars Petter Hagen's commentary work 'Strauss Fragments', written especially for Ensemble Allegria, this constitutes a record we are very proud of.

“Music cannot be created out of nothing. In this way, both metamorphosis and variation are something that can be found in all compositions of a certain extent, be it more or less consciously. The confession of a role model connects all three works on this CD. Britten had a close relationship with his teacher Frank Bridge, and shows this through his variations. Strauss quotes Ludwig van Beethoven's third symphony in his "Metamorphoses" and Hagen again takes this work as a starting point in his "Strauss fragments".

We also have the pleasure of participating on Tine Thing Helseth's latest record, with music by MacMillan, Ewazen, Wallin, Satie, Poulenc, Grieg and Arutiunian. This record will be released on November 18th! Follow us on Spotify, and you'll find singles from both records, and get the latest news about our releases there! It can also be purchased from the LAWO Store.
