Mendelssohn, Bacewicz and Brahms
A program packed with musical energy, virtuosity and the joy of making music together!
Ensemble Allegria is considered one of Norway's foremost ensembles, and has thrilled both audiences and critics, who describe the orchestra as follows:
(...) a crazy energy and directness that makes the music sound raw in the best sense of the word." - Morgenbladet (...) a joy of playing that is rare. It is of the kind that no ensemble can program - either it is there, or it is not. And then it becomes clear that enthusiasm is not just a state, for example in musicians, but that it is also a quality of expression" - Dagbladet
"One of our best orchestras: A secure balance between reflection and vitality characterizes Ensemble Allegria." - Morgenbladet
When the ensemble celebrates the arrival of summer at Sentralen on June 4, it will be with a program that truly brings out the orchestra's distinctive qualities: youthful boldness and enthusiasm with Mendelssohn's String Symphony, playful and virtuoso antics in Bacewicz's Divertimento and pure joy and exuberance in Brahms's mighty String Quintet in G major, arranged for string orchestra.
